About Us
A Proud South West Club Developing Talent, Community and Opportunity.
South West Phoenix FC has a proud and established history of competing at a high level in Football West’s Metropolitan State League competitions.
Founded in 2001, the club’s name was selected through a community competition run by the South-West Times. In its inaugural season, South West Phoenix entered the WA State League Division 1 and finished sixth, laying the foundation for future success. In 2010, the club was rebranded as Bunbury Forum Force as part of a sponsorship agreement, before going on to win its first Division 1 title in 2011 and earning promotion to the WA Premier League. After two competitive seasons at that level, the club returned to its original identity as South West Phoenix FC in 2015.
Based in Bunbury, South West Phoenix is the State League representative club for the South West region, providing talented local players with the opportunity to compete at a high level without needing to relocate to the metropolitan area. This regional focus continues to underpin the club’s strength and identity.
In 2016, the club entered an exciting new chapter with its move to purpose-built facilities at Hay Park South. That same year marked its entry into the Junior National Premier League (NPL), creating a clear pathway for elite junior players in the South West to compete at the highest level. With strong support from Football West, the club has continued to build a reputation for developing talented players, highlighted by standout performances such as the Under 13 team finishing runners-up in their inaugural NPL season.
Today, South West Phoenix remains the only regional club outside the metropolitan area to hold an NPL licence. The club’s continued success is driven by a commitment to quality coaching, strong development pathways, and meaningful connections with local clubs and the wider community.
